Some cameras "correct" the color even if you don't want them to. Mine doesn't like yellow. It makes it kind of blueish.

It looks spectacular from here.

Following your progress and step-by-step updates on your quilt. The design and colors are beautiful.

Learned another thing to watch out for. When I filled in the "corners and trimmed, I did not pay attention the the angle other than to get them all the same. Should have made sure it was 45 deg. Not that it's a huge deal, just more design work as the corners have to be asymmetrical.

I laid it out so I could get the exact angle. I traced it on my paper (that is what that roll is next to my drafting table.)

Then drew out the design, keeping it similar in structure to the center, but not exact. I did not want to use any more white.

I used a ruler for the points, but cut the pattern for the gold filler between. I use Elmer's glue to hold them in place and cut 1/4" around them. I remove them as soon as I cut, while the glue is not super bonded.

Then started sewing the sections and trimming up for the next group.

I have one done, and the other four almost done.

and about where it's going to end up on the quilt - I've been playing with the chunks of fabric I have left to get some ideas for the outer borders.

Amazing.... You are a very talented and creative designer You should design patterns. Quilt construction comes very easy to you. I struggle with that part. Thanks for sharing your process with us. Fun to watch how your brain works. Lol..

I've got the corners on now. Only part left is a narrow black border and a wider burgundy print border.

I remember the book of her doing those medallions with the border prints. Elegant. Have fun playing with your fabrics.
