I have these colors to do a baby quilt with. They match a pretty border I have of illustrated animals. I just learned how to do D4P blocks and love them! I'm thinking of doing a big center of these blocks with the animal borders around it. I also want to work in some solid squares of these fabrics, somehow...

(My camera exaggerates reds-- they are not this orangey.)

how darling this will be. All warm and happy. I just Love the d4p too. Have made a few sample blocks using two colors per block (just as you've done here). I've done them with a white solid as the 2nd color in each block and really like the look of them. It will be the first new quilt of the year for me, as soon as I finish a couple of 2010's. Can't wait to see this finished!

I love the scrappy look. I am definitely going to make one of these soon! What a great way to use up leaders and enders!

Very interesting. I study your blocks for quite awhile wondering how you cut the four patch to get that look. Then I scrolled down and found the link to the four patch. Now I can't wait to give it a try...Thanks for the idea.

That is a lovely quilt, I just love all the D9P and it's variations.

My next challenge is going to be this one as I just love the effect: http://lynbrown.com/?p=1096

Pardon my ignorance, what exactly are leaders and enders?

The blocks are not scrappy. I used six fabrics only, in as many combos as I could come up with before I had to start repeating. Doesn't 'scrappy' mean all different fabrics?

That's a cool quilt. Looks like it would be fun to create. The blocks I made are D4P, however, not D9P...
