I used bleached muslin for the background. You can get it pretty cheap at Joanne' on sale.
But ti was the navy blue that I found in a quilt shop up the mountains that really made it pop. I still have 2 1/2 yds of coordinating pieces to use as sashing in the big quilt that I will make one of these days. I am going to get some more of the navy blue next weekend when we go up there if the lady has any left andd incorporate it into the big one as well. Maybe have 3 borders, with the dark blue being the middle one. It felt good to finally make something for myself :!: :D Most of everything else I have done has been given away.

Very inviting Vicki. I just love to sit on the front porch swing and a cushion like that would be much more comfy!!! That is a great idea and you carried it out beautifully!

Thanks sandpat. I did out of necessity. No1: I needed something! More padding in the front of me than my backside and it was hard to enjoy the wing! No 2 I couldn't find anything that would fit a 60" swing. Most swing cushions measured only 50" and th lawn chair cushions had the breaks in them for bending like for a straight chair.

Beautiful Vicki!!! Love the swing color, too. I've be pickin' this morning, one strip on the photo quilt I'm doing for my friend's soldier.......came across 1/2 inch to wide. I measured and measure but as usual when you have to pick it all up and put it away every time. I am sure you are looking forward to your moving to that Mountain soon!
    Miss you and love ya,
    Sharon

it looks great. How inventive and comforatable looking. And inviting. I always love to swing in a porch swing. As a child my grandparents had one on their front porch and I used to love sitting out there. Great job.

Sharon, when I was working on Dawn's scrappy block for the round robin, there was a whole herd of whatever a lot of frogs is called in my sewing room. I had only myself to blame, but I know what you mean. I have to stop and go back to it and usually sewed it together wrong the 1st 3 or 4 times! LOL

I like that idea! the thing is he tinkers all the time and trades and buys and sells this junk. It was worse before he retired believe it or not! He was a postman and had several cars to use in case one broke down, he could still get the mail out. :D
