I would however spread your sunflowers apart more.
I wonder how many different patterns you could come up with using those blocks.
I like #2 (so does Rachel) but I don't like the corners... but I could play around with other turns there. I want it to look like paths through wandering gardens... I'm so glad I did the curvy effect with this one.

Karla,
What a beautiful WIP! Do you notice how the outside of #1 has kind of a 'swag' look to it? That's what I like best of the 3 different pictures. You have a great eye for color and design and it will turn out lovely, whatever you decide to do from here.

I like #2 photo ... I really like them all, but if I could only pick one layout, #2 would be my bag.
I comprehend what you are saying about it being more rectangular, and I haven't taken time to draw it out, but the number of blocks would be "what by what"?
I was thinking about the lower right hand corner, and thought ... if you turned the middle blocks so that the solid color is angling down, and then the light in between ... and in the final corner, it would be another fan or flower ... and, then I thought ... making the out border being the blocks, in that zigzag/delectable mountain style? (and, green binding so that it has some grass pathway around it <g>) I am seeing not that yellow green, but that really BRIGHT, clear green ... or blue <g>

OR! On the #2 quilt ... accent the colors by turning the blocks so they make butterflies ... hmmm ... sort of like a block I saw on one of the round robin exchanges ... but, I don't remember the name of the block.
Have to do some bookwork, but if I can wrack my brain and figure it out, I will get back here ... or pinwheels?
just using that corner angle as you have, but a solid line down at an angle ... fill in the corners with the extra two rows (four squares - - I think) with a completely different use of the HST blocks you have created.
Sort of like the decorators say: An unexpected touch ...
I am just really enjoying your quilt!
So much inspiration .... so little time!

It's going to be stunning Karla, whatever layout you pick!
That's the thing about Log Cabin blocks - any pattern you can make with a half-square triangle, you can make with a Log Cabin. :D
As for the colors...the only one that really seems to stand out is the sunflower strip, so I think I would keep those separated.

Your blocks are just gorgeous!! :D I think I like #1 the best. But, of course, any of the patterns will be terrific. No matter what you pick, do keep us posted. Thank you for sharing!!
