I really like the way it looks like film strips! You couldn't have picked a more perfect fabric. Your motifs are looking good! Wish mine would turn out that good!

Well PatriceJ to me it looks mighty fine. I think machine embroidery and stippling would be so much fun.

for now i'm saving it to use as a visual aid in some classes my friends and i will be giving at the local YMCA. i can use it to demonstrate some of the things that will happen if we don't pay attention and/or take the wrong sorts of short cuts during construction. then i'll fix it to demonstrate that we can often rescue projects that might seemed doomed to the landfill.

i used this motif (built into my embroidery machine) to practice centering on intersected seams. finding the center was easy enough. i will need to practice some more on getting them level, so motif points around the outside land where they're supposed to. these are close enough for a project like this, but i want to get better before i tackle anything really important. i just did small stippling in the gray block borders. it doesn't show up in a photo - not even a closeup. the thread color matches so well, it just "disappears".

this is the fabric i started with. i used it for a 4-patch stack & wack, then played around with the leftovers to make the sashing and border.
That's very clever Patrice. How did you do the stippling around the block? I've wanted to try stippling with the programmed design on my machine, but don't get how you get it to fill just a certain area.

How funny. I didn't get what you were saying and read through all of the responses. I saw teeth and couldn't figure it out. Sorry.

Oh my goodness perfection is overrated. It fits with the quilt itself and no Landfill for this one. When in life is everything perfect.
