This is a future group by Hoffman. These are screen prints, not batiks. Here are the first three. I believe the pictures represent the gradation of color from selvedge to selvedge.

And three more colors of the wide tonal. There are more colors of this pattern, in the collection, than what I'm posting here, including rose and lavenders.

I confess that I really don't know how you should use these fabrics. Can anyone clue me in? Thanks!

    HI FF,

My LQS had one of her lines as well and I looked at it for months..thinking what would I do with these (I work at LQS) and sadly they sat on a shelf waiting...for a long time...because although I think people love them..they are reserved about buying them. SO I made a "Many trips around the world" with them and it turned out beautiful. My co-worker also made sort of a blended pattern using them as well and it is FABULOUS! I kept thinking to myself the worse pattern you can use those for is a bargello and it actually turned out well.....so I think if people think outside of the box a little they are fabulous prints..just hard for the ones that can't. There is my two cents worth!

I used a tonal batik on my portrait quilt, for the background and also the color blend worked really well in one of the face areas.

These are really great for "art quilts" to add additional colors to your palette when you need a small piece of a color.

I can also see these working with bargello or other patterns that require gradations of color.

Thank you for posting these and all the fabrics you've posted--you give us a "heads up" on what's coming out next. I like these the best of all you've posted. Thanks again. Can't wait til these are in LQS.

You could use them the same as ombre fabrics, I guess, for landscapes or something like that. I wouldn't really use them, I don't think. I do like the seashells and starfish, though. Pretty colors.
