OMGosh! It was a 60 degre ruler not a 30* one. Sorry if that caused problems for anybody. I have been trying to post pictures of how to use the 60 degree ruler and the regular ruler and have not been having much luck. Have also tried on my blog, so think it has something to do with the wind and my Verizon internet, but it's what I got soo..... As soon as I am able I will get them posted at both place. |
That is wonderful.

I was able to post pictures to my blog site using the 60 degree ruler and a regular ruler to cut the pieces for the "Fan"tastic table topper. Please feel free to check there to see them.
Will contiue to try here to get them to post. Judy |
You've added your own ideas to it and made it truly unique.
Congratulations!! You are a fantastic quilter. |

Here are the pictures of how I used the 60 degree ruler and/or the regular ruler to cut the triangles for my table topper. I hope they don't confuse anyone, if so just pm me and hopefully can unconfuse.
Thank you all again for the kind comments, and if you're making one hope you enjoy it, the possibilities are endless in how it can turn out. After cutting each strip set you will have two colors types of triangles from each strip that you cut. Then you flip the ruler over lining the 60 degree mark up this time with the bottom of the strip of fabric and make your next cut. Continue flipping and cutting to the end of each strip You put your point at the edge of fabric and line up bottom edge so it is straight make the cut Then you flip the ruler upside down and make the next cut When using a regular ruler: You line the 60 degree marking up with the top of your fabric piece and make a cut for your first angle |
I have a ruler very similar to that and it is 60 degree angle so I might give this a try with some pieces of fabric that I have. Thanks for posting, this is the exact way that I made that maze wall hanging for my nephew. I tihnk I'll put around and see if I can get a nice topper like yours. Love it, Thanks again, Huggies, Fay
