Just gorgeous, I love how your quilting enhances the quilt but doesn't over power it. The beads would really add a bit of sparkle, but are very delicate at the same time. Great job.
I did a FMQ class yesterday and learnt so many techniques now I just need to practice practice practice LOL

Caroltee 01-22-2011 01:37 PM

barnbum 01-22-2011 08:12 PM

Those are works of art--way beyond quilting. They look perfect where they are... I was really chuckling at that story.

DogHouseMom 01-22-2011 08:23 PM

Lovely! Next time I'm in the UK I'll have to stop by the village hall in Somerset to see it.

hyoung4779 01-22-2011 08:25 PM

Wow. I doubt the queen would mind.

Rntraveler 01-22-2011 08:28 PM

I quite agree!!

Call in for tea and cucumber sandwiches at the same time - I live right opposite! :-D

Thank you SO much everyone for your kind words. Woody - practice is the key! I know you can do it! :-D

Looks like the perfect spot for it K! It appears to have been "made" for that area. Who owns the building anyway??? Maybe you can just sell it to them???? It really turned out beautifully!

llong0233 01-23-2011 06:08 AM

What a great gift to the town. Your triptych is beautiful. The beading is something I haven't seen before from this group. Well done!

barnbum 01-23-2011 06:12 AM

I was looking again and just love that pebbling in the border. You are so creative!! :-D

rosemaynes 01-23-2011 06:15 AM

WOW you did a great job and it looks great were you are hanging it.

Laura22 01-23-2011 06:33 AM

It's owned by the Village I guess - at least its use and maintenance is administered by a commitee of villagers. The actual building is owned by our landlord's family - the Camerons of Dillington. Genuine English Lords and Ladies. :-D

k3n 01-23-2011 06:53 AM

LOL on the snooker thing BTW - didn't occur to me you wouldn't know that - it's kind of like pool I guess!

Snooker is a form of billiards. We had a pocket billiard table growing up and once you learn to play on that, regular pool tables are a piece of cake!! My brother is now quite the shark. We still say "snooker" and "you've/I've been snookered"!! LOL What a blast from the past.

P.S. eight ball in the corner pocket

Pat P 01-23-2011 07:26 AM

As we say here in the US, THAT IS SOOOO COOL! Way to go , really like the touch of the beads. Thanks for sharing!

FABULOUS!!! I am blown away!

Aunt Bea 01-23-2011 08:47 AM

K, you are such and inspiration to me. You and Katrine are certainly the OBW masters. I'm going to start my first one today and am so excited about it. Kind of scared too. Thanks for all the inspiration.

thebossbab 01-23-2011 09:59 AM

I think The Queen would not mind being moved in lieu of such beautiful work (heehee). Just stunning...you do such beautiful quilts.

IBQUILTIN 01-23-2011 10:06 AM

WOW

kwendt 01-23-2011 10:08 AM

Awesome looking... especially hanging there... Great stuff! Makes me want to do a OBWonder too. Ah... so many 'wants' and sew little time!

Pickle 01-23-2011 10:21 AM

I am wondering of the OBW . Is that a book or just a seperate pattern and where could I get one and is it hard to do? All these questions. I am on vacation and stopped in Hobby Lobby and saw some fabric that I thought would be beautiful but not knowing the pattern I did not know how much to purchase. I do not have a real big stash.
All of you ladies do such beautiful work.
Pickle
