I posted this a while ago as a top - now it's quilted! I had nowhere in the house big enough to hang it so it's now hanging over the road in our Village Hall! I was talking to the Chairman one night about how much I'd like to hang it there but the only wall space large enough was over the entrance to the snooker room and that is where the portrait of the Queen and Prince Phillip hangs - well he said to me " We'll move the bloomin' Queen!" Don't tell her, she'll probably lock me in the Tower of London!
Anyway, today we hung it and here are some pics. It is made using the one block wonder technique - for more info on these types of quilts, check out the Topic List here http://www.quiltingboard.com/virtual_section_list.jsp There are quite a few pics so bear with me! :-D Close up hanging in the Hall Showing how it hangs there! OOh, they look great, k. I was actually thinking of cutting the Floral master fabric 3.5 inches instead of 3.75, just to get a little more detail. Not that it's really necessary with that print, but I was thinking. lol

Wow - I am humbled...this is gorgous!!!
|
They look fabulous, the pebbled frames are just right. Your comments abut the Queen made me laugh too, thanks for the giggle!
|
very pretty!

Stunningly beautiful! Love the way you put it all together.

Wonderful! And I think it looks more regal than Her Majesty....And where's the small separate frame containing the advert for it, you, price, etc etc??
|
fantastic
|
Wow, who would have thought to use OBW as the background? Love your quilts and love your story. Happy that you found a large enough (and public, no less) spot to display your art.

Absolutely beautiful! Sashing and boarders frame the top so nicely, and love how the bottom boarders are designed. And purple is my color.

 :-D  |
Beautiful quilt. Your town must really appreciate you for allowing it to be put there for everyone to enjoy. It really dresses up the place. And the queen is probably happy to have her own little niche where she can be seen also. Win-win, as they say.

Thanks so much everyone! I live in a wonderful village of 46 houses and we have one quilter (me!), one jewellery maker, one stained glass maker, one photographer and one painter. It's a wonderful place to live and very mutually supportive. :-D
