This project was a JUMBO post card. The theme was anything to do with Australia. I chose the Satin Bowerbird. The male bowerbird builds his nest with found objects to impress a potential mate. There are several types of bowerbirds. If you are interested, go to youtube and just look at bowerbirds...truly amazing...

Brenda, what keeps all the bits and pieces of ribbon and threads in place?

I used water soluable stabilizer and made a "sandwhich" with some of my thread clippings.....I sewed in a grid, then just free motion....put in water and washed out the stabilizer and the threads were sewn together...it was a fun experiment and I was happy with the results...
