I think your stars look wonderful! Depending on the size of quilt you want, you could also set your blocks on point with alternate plain squares. That seems to make a quilt larger quickly! Whatever you do, she will love it!

This was my thought, also.
Good luck, they are beautiful blocks and will make a gorgeous quilt.

Your stars are so pretty. It will be a wonderful gift when you're finished. As already mentioned, if you want to enlarge the quilt you can always sash and include alternate plain blocks. Keep going. It's going to be much loved by the recipient, I'm sure.

That is going to be a dynamite quilt. I love all the colors. I agree with everyone - don't put additional pressure on yourself. Use sashing or simple alternate blocks and you can knock that baby out in no time! (this from a person who can NEVER knock out a quilt!) As someone else said, think of who it's for and the sacrifice that person made and you'll find it a lot less boring. Wishing you both good health.

Put a wide frame around each star, say a 3 inch wide, which will make each block BIG. Find a sewing friend, let her help you assemble. You will generate energy and enthusiasm by working together. Trust me, it is a Law of the Universe.

Thank you to everyone who posted and kept me going on this... 7 hours later (minus a lunch break)... I made two more blocks.. sashed them all with the same color backgroud and squared them all a little "on-tilt" ..sewed the blocks into rows and the rows into a top~! it is 4x5 laid out and I am going to add two borders.. .I will take a picture before bed and post tonight or tomorrow... thanks again as your encouragment did it for me :-) you are the best!!

Love your scrappy stars. If you want to stretch it just alternate your blocks with plain printed fabric squares the same size of your blocks.

You will be SOOOO SURPRISED when you see how that jumps to life once it's quilted! I think it's great! Once it's finished you'll fall back in love with it again!
