Have you considered putting it on point with some plain squares in between? Then you could use creative quilting to make it really special. The rows would have four on top, three in second row, four in third row, three in fourth row, Four in the last row. That should make it big enough without having to make more stars. :)

Love the layout of your Dancing Stars,with sashing and quillting is is sue to be a winner.
