I second the motion. Lovely quilt.

Its really pretty!

Beautiful
I'm with Greensleeves on this also, green would be a nice binding.
I vote with those who say... 'no' to the extra light colored border. The more I look at it... I think I'd (for myself) choose a very very dark blue or even black for the binding, to make the quilt 'pop' more.
But then, I'm one of those who like high contrast... and I'm a new quilter... so... ahhh... forget what I just wrote! (lol!) It's a lovely sampler quilt! |
I would add the green and bind it in the blue if you have enough of it left
love it
That is lovely

Personally, I like a wider outer border, but I would use a color a darker as oppose to lighter. I was always taught that, with the exception of a dark border to 'stop' the action in the quilt, the outside borders should be a bit darker in color than the previous
Love this quilt. You need a beautiful job on it.
Omg!! Leave it the way it is ..Simply Lovely!!!
The green binding would be great as it will bring the green out in the quilt already.
Gorgeous !
I love it. I love the colors especially!
That is so pretty! Nice work.
I'm not so fond of a light border on a darker quilt. But if you'd like to use the sage in it, why not just add a narrow strip of it (1/2"finished) and then another wider border of the dark floral blue.?
IMHO |
I like it just the way it is!!
I agree with K.P. I think a darker border will give a more "finished" look and call attention to the quilt itself.
Can you share the source of your pattern. I love it! |
I think it looks fantastic the way it is.
If you have enough fabric, add the lighter border, then frame that with a flying geese border of your leftover fabrics. Make binding of your dark fabric, or piece a binding from scraps.
Lately I've noticed that quilts with very light borders, those borders seem to fall off. They almost never add to the design. Just like a white frame on a picture. It rarely works.
As a lap robe its big enough but if you might want to use it as a throw or wall hanging add the border.
Great job. I would leave it like it is.
I like it! Great job!
Beautiful Work !!! Such nice clean and crisp corners & points! Great Job. Love the colors, too.

Beautiful quilt as is. - Cynthia

It's really pretty the way it is. I would only add the border if it wasn't big enough for the bed.

Your colors all work so well together, I'd let what I wanted for my final measurement determine how much I added. You couldn't go wrong with any of your suggestions.
I'm jealous :x |
