Thank you! He has been on intense patching (after school until bed and all weekend) and we have a followup next week. I didn't realize vision therapy was even an option, now I'll have time to research and I'll be able to talk to his doctor about it! Thank you so much!

Just be aware that opthalmologists are trained as surgeons and often propose surgery. The problem is that once surgery has been performed, vision therapy becomes much less predictable in terms of helping. If you want to pursue vision therapy, it's very important to do it *before* surgery.

Love it...what a clever idea!

Surgery hasn't been voiced as an option, thankfully. My husband said (after looking at the website with me) that his doctor had a lot of those vision therapy aids in his office, but didn't think Ethan needed anything more than patching yet. I'll still keep researching though.

I've learned myself about surgeons, I've had two foot surgeries this year and will have a third minor one next week trying to correct issues caused by the last one... sighhh.

I'm glad ya'll like the idea, the boys are still playing with it~!

I have had students who wore eye patches and benefited greatly from them. We even made matching eye patches for the other kids to try wearing one day. Then we talked like pirates. Fun for all.

I just had my hands on this pic last week, and fortunately was able to locate it again. This is me at my 6th B-Day party at Chuck E. Cheese. I think it was 1984.

I think that is fantastic. I wore a patch with him the first few times he had to put one on, and I must say it was an enlightening experience. I would love for my son to have a teacher like you!

speaking of pirates: What do you charge a pirate to pierce his ears? A buck an ear!

What kind of socks do pirates wear? Aaaaaarrrrrhhhhhgyle!
