10 Minute Nap - Vintage look quilt
1 Attachment(s)
Here's one of three quilts I've made for a family reunion this summer. My family (myself, 2 sons, 1 DIL and 1 GD) have rented a cabin and we (meaning I) have to provide our own linens. Since I'm the vintage member of the group, this will probably be on my bed. It's the 10 minute block - that takes considerably more than 10 minutes - but I like it, since you end up with a BIG block.

Have fun at the cabin. |
Great job! It looks so comfy and inviting. Great use of the color yellow. I might just need to print this picture as it inspires me to use that mountain of vintage fabrics.
|
it is beautiful, if I am looking at it right, you first did half square triangles for the large blocks and then put them together in the regular way? it is a beautiful variation.

Thanks - actually I treated the large squares with yellow 10 min centers as four corner squares of an even larger square and inserted another yellow center into them. Also, I made half square triangles of the original 10 inch layer cake squares to mix up the fabrics a little. Design wall was very important in keeping things organized . . . . .

wow...I love it in that FUN scrappy look....awesome job
|
I really like what you did with this pattern! I think I need to give this one a try. It looks fairly easy, although I keep reading that it is NOT a 10 minute block! lol BUT, as you pointed out, the blocks are very large, so it would most likely make a very quick quilt top. Nice job!

this is totally cool!!!! i really like the chunky blocks but the yellow curvy stars are an eye catcher and the border is fantastic. i love this!!
|
