That is unbelievable! Have you ever done something like this before...making MASS quilts?

quilterfly 12-16-2010 04:01 PM

Awesome! And may I say you have a perfectly gorgeous stash! Or maybe I should say "did have".

Yes, I did use my walking foot and followed along the ditch. It is a lot lot easier than trying to stay perfectly in the ditch!!!!
Try using some of your decorative stitches along the ditch.

The stitch you used to quilt your quilts is one of my favorites to use for charity quilts. The quilt in my webshots link is quilted with the serpentine stitch. The blocks in the quilt are extras from 2 other quilts.

What about the projects donating quilts to the soldiers?

barbrdunn 12-16-2010 05:10 PM

My goodness, have you been a busy lady! Congratulations on your dedication.

lallyann 12-16-2010 05:17 PM

wow! i am impressed!! my fave is definitely the brightly colored dog quilt! i would be happy to have that on my couch :) Great job! So sorry they did not sell, but maybe at another time, or maybe you have lots of gifts ready made now! Beautiful!

owie 12-16-2010 05:22 PM

Your quilts are gorgeous. My daughter has done several bazaars in the past several months and hardly sold a thing. Noone is buying homemade but they sure are buying at the malls.

patimint 12-16-2010 06:32 PM

11 quilts in 3 weeks, it has taken me 11 month to finish and almost finish 2 quilts. Your quilts are wonderful. I LOVE the pansy quilt (my favorite flower and favorite color). Some day you can teach me how to do a quilt so fast.

Ileen 12-16-2010 06:53 PM

Beautiful,Beautiful!!!!!!

Stitchnripper 12-16-2010 06:59 PM

I was at a guild meeting yesterday and we gave over 300 quilts away (we do this twice a year) to various charities and seeing the "Parade of quilts" being given away has again made me want to donate more.
I have barely considered selling on etsy. Maybe here too, but then again, maybe I will just give them all away!!!

so many beautiful florals--you might check with local cancer center to see if they would want them for their patients during treatments. to use & re- use---or better yet, to go home with the lady. what a warm feeling in your heart.
you are a worker !!

TexasSunshine 12-16-2010 07:50 PM

Love your quilts, they do look like a easy pattern.

wraez 12-16-2010 08:46 PM

You are a crazed driven woman!

All those quilts are wonderful but the one with the Asian floral fabrics is calling me by name. Love it.

Now I really feel guilty that I don't get more quilts done in less time.

warm quilt hugs, sue in CA

IBQUILTIN 12-16-2010 08:50 PM

All are lovely, but, when for goodness sakes, did you get some sleep?

Ok, three of them have Asian florals in them. And all three of them also have Asian fabrics on the back as well. You should see the beautiful fabric on the back of the largest quilt (last one)

wraez 12-16-2010 09:14 PM

The red and purple Asian quilt, guess the gold edging is what draws my eyes to it every time.

Love all Asian fabrics and quilts. Yours are really lovely.

seasaw2mch 12-16-2010 09:15 PM

I have that same floral fabric on the back. At one time I got a super deal on that fabric and bought 15 yards (the whole bolt) of it. It is a really pretty fabric and I hated using it on the back.

crickey , when do you eat and sleep. you did a wonderful job , it`s a shame the response was so poor.

ladyshuffler 12-17-2010 12:28 AM

Awesome.................to do all of that in such a short period of time. You are to be commended my friend!!

fktsewing 12-17-2010 04:27 AM

I bow to the master. I just wish for time to complete one. You did a great job---sorry it did not go well. Sell them on ebay or craigslist and donate the money or there are lots of places that will take quilts for children. And then go treat yourself with some new fabric---you earned it.

Vickymomof6 12-17-2010 05:26 AM

Wow! That's a lot of quilts in a VERY short time!
You need a quilt given to YOU!

So.... about Thanksgiving time I asked my DH and he said "sure" if you want to make a few things. So..... I whipped up 11 quilts in 3 weeks time. I made 6 baby size, similar to the "Downey" quilts and 5 larger, lap size quilts using the warm wishes pattern. They are both really easy patterns and I can whip them up quickly. All the fabrics were pulled directly from my stash.

Beautiful quilts and so fast! Amazing! I guess you could stash them for the next gifts or charities that you need something quick and don't have time! I've wanted to do that for a while but never seem to get ahead of the ball!

And the result.......... Hardly anyone came to the boutique, which I kinda had a feeling would happen..... and I didn't sell anything but a couple of old craft items that I dug out of the garage.

charismah 12-17-2010 10:45 AM

Beautiful quilts! Speedy construction!
I think it is a great organization..and I am sorry they didn't sell...but they will get good use when you donate them anyhow..never a waste!

quilting cat 12-17-2010 10:51 AM

Your fabric choices are as awesome as your production rate!
Now what are you going to do with all of them?

lnikkers52 12-17-2010 07:48 PM

oh they are so beautiful. very very nice

AnnieF 12-17-2010 08:15 PM

You have done a wonderful job. I think I may retire from the boutique business. My quilt guild had a quilt show with a boutique for members to sell their quilted and sewn items. I spent a lot of time on the items I put in there and barely sold anything. I think in order to sell, you have to have a very clear idea of what people will buy and what they will spend on it. Your quilts are so beautiful...I hope you find someone to give them to who will appreciate them.

GrannieAnnie 12-17-2010 08:56 PM

They're all great. But the doggie one is my favorite

I used to do boutiques years ago, before I started working outside the home.
I did really well for a couple of years, this was before I started quilting. I made lots of fabric dolls and even played a bit with my scroll saw. I used to earn plenty of $$ to frame my cross stitch, which was my goal.
I have so much stuff in the garage that is over half done, I was thinking of maybe next year hauling it out and playing with it to maybe sell at a boutique next Christmas season. Now, I don't know if it is worth the time.
Though I could finish up a few things and use them as gift again.
I have never sold a quilt. I was hoping to be able to sell at least one.

Marilyn Philips 12-20-2010 06:28 PM

Love the one with the dinosaurs.

Dee 12-20-2010 09:01 PM

My thimble is off to you! Every quilt is so beautiful.

Dreaming 12-24-2010 06:46 AM

It's a shame that they did'nt sell, they are all beautiful! Eleven quilts in 3 weeks, your incredible!

natalieg 12-24-2010 07:00 AM

Well, it looks like you now have a lot of work done for a bazaar this coming year~if you wouldn't have made any then tons of people would have showed up!

sewbizgirl 12-24-2010 07:05 AM

Your quilts are great. You could sell them online, in an Etsy shop or another website. You could still raise funds from them, that way...

Good luck!

Gramma B 12-24-2010 07:13 AM

Such beautiful quilts. I am in awe of your ability, and to make so many in such a short time frame! God Bless!

Leann 12-24-2010 07:15 AM

I can't begin to imagine making 11 quilts of ANY size in 3 weeks! I am speechless.

Way to go!

QuiltQtrs 12-24-2010 07:30 AM

So many beautiful fabrics. I simply must try this pattern!
