Some people have better luck pressing all the seams open. I have better luck pressing seams all one directions and snipping off excess ears BEFORE I add the next section.

If you reverse the seams on the center of that seam you can nestle those seams into each other. I am not an expert on those blocks, but find if you start in the center and pin like crazy at each seam section, you can get them to fit together. Good Luck! Let us know how it works.

practicing those 1/4 in seams is paying off isan't it?

oh and another thing are you pressing all the seams in one direction? So when you cut the oppsite sides you will have a good kissing seam.

Do you put 4 together, another 4 together and then sew the 2 halves?
I made some placemats and they went together pretty well when doing it that way and if they were off a tad it really didn't show after quilting.
