This was for my daughter-in-law Denise's birthday. Was the first time I've tried this pattern. Thanks so much for all who previously posted photos as they made it, as they were a big help to me! An excellent selection comes up when you search!
:D :D |
How pretty! Looks like she loves it too.
Thank you, Bluebird!! :D
You're welcome! Forgot to tell ya that is a nice quilt inspector, he/she likes it too :D
Beautifal. Great colors and pattern. Is that from a fabric collection or just your wonderful eye for color combo. I love it. Denise is very lucky
to have a mother-in-law so talented. |
Awe she looks so happy.... beautiful job, now she has a treasure! Love the color selection, I'll have to try that pattern.
Very Pretty!!! :D :D :D
Those are beautiful fabrics and they worked so well in this pattern. |
Love the colors on this quilt. I've been meaning to try the D9P...who knows, after the holidays there might be some "me" time :)
Looks like Denise loves her quilt. |
That is so pretty. I can see your quilt inspector approves. You can tell by her face she loves it.
Beautiful job! I love the floral border, it completes it!
Hi Diana,
Superb! That really looks nice with your color scheme, too. Obviously, your DIL loves it as does your kitty. It doesn't get any better than that, right? :) Happy quilting, |
Pretty quilt!!
That's very pretty - and good to see that the Inspector passed it before it was given!
This remains one of my favorite patterns....so quick, and it comes out looking so nice. So many possibilities for placement, colors, etc. Really pretty colors you did!!! I like it!!
Oh how pretty!
It looks so pretty. Isn't the D9P a wonderful pattern?
ranger |
Beautiful!! I just love the colors. The quilt looks like it is a hit, both with the kitty and your DIL. I love how yours is put together. I have to get busy after the first of the year and try that pattern. Great job
BEAUTIFUL!! love the colors
That's gorgeous! And the colors are awesome. I really love the D9P too -- quick and easy :D :D
Very Beautiful gift!
Thank you all, so much!! Yes, it was really easy to put together, so all of you who haven't gave it a try - do! Would be perfect if you need a quilt in a hurry too!
Dglvr, the fabric is Zen something from Makower UK, that I had gotten last Spring from Fields Fabrics. I got it thinking of Denise's quilt, as she has the rosy floral furniture. Thank you all again!! :D :D |
Your quilt is just beautiful! You did a great job and the floral border really adds alot! Looks like DDIL loves it too! Colors look great together! :D :D
Love the quilt and the cat. Your fabric really makes the design stand out.
Thank you, N2scraplvr & Darlene!!! :D :D
Mollie, Love your quilt and have been wanting to try this pattern. My question is: How did you do the placement of these squares? I have asked this question before but don't seem to get an answer. It looks like you only have three different fabrics; is that right? And was each block placed the same? Appreciate your response. Again, love the quilt and the colors. Love It.
Beautiful quilt with my favorite color. I still haven't made a DP9, but it is on the top of my to do list after Christmas. It looks like Denise really liked it!
Thank you, Sash!
I did a search on this board, as I knew nothing about making one! This is one posting I used for help - scroll down and Gcathie shows how she cut her's, and arranged them. Yes, I used the three fabrics, and just kind of twisted them around for the placement.... http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-16165-1.htm Someone (I'm thinking it was Sandpat)posted somewhere to make sure you cut the pieces accurately, when you're cutting the blocks in half, or the finished block won't come out right - something I needed to focus on. lol!! I hope this answers your question, if not, let me know!! :) :) |
Wow!! I think that's one of the prettiest D9P's I've seen yet!! She sure looks thrilled with it too! Wonderful job, as always :D
Thank so much, Ducky!! :) :)
And Sash, I just re-read your question.... No, I don't think each block is placed the same, I believe some might go upside down, or backwards.... Sorry, it's been about a month since I made it, and I have no memory! lol!!! I had to lay them out on my design wall, to figure out how to put each one. It is all easier than it sounds, I didn't have any issues making it, and it was by far the fastest one I've done! |
Thank you so much, Lisa!!! :) :)
You did great on your first D9P. She's delighted, that's for sure.
Okay, quilters. What's a DPN and where do I find the pattern? And I thot I had seen them all.
Thank you, Mimee4!! :) :)
Mar32428, just check out this link! :) D9P = "Diasapearing 9 Patch". You just make a 9 patch, then cut it in half both ways, then sew it back together again! lol!!! This link was a great help to me, when I made mine! Scroll down a bit, and Gcathie shows how she cut her's..... http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-16165-1.htm :) |
Thanks so much, Loretta!! :)
Very nice job!
