These are the 1st time I did feathers on my LA. Don't look to close, remember this is a first for me. I have never put satin binding on a quilt before but this is going to my sister's DGD. I asked her what she like most about an old blanket she had and she said pointed to the satin binding and said it feels so nice on her cheek. So I put it on for her.

My first feathers are in a very patterned fabric where they don't show. The quilt is wonderful. I love the saten binding. Most babies like it

Sewfine 07-28-2011 02:46 PM

Well, since I have zero machine quilting experience, let alone a LA I can look at it at every angle and it looks BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!! :D

jdiane318 07-28-2011 07:44 PM

mtnative 07-28-2011 07:48 PM

Wow ~ I think you have done so well. I remember satin bindings on my blankets growing up. My mom said I would stand under the clothes line to get to mine.

LindaM 07-28-2011 07:48 PM

montanajan 07-28-2011 08:58 PM

You did a great job.
I use satin bindings on many baby quilts - have yet to meet a baby who does not love to rub the satin.

trif 07-28-2011 09:31 PM

First attempt, looks fabulous. I put satin binding on a quilt ONCE, it was so hard for me to work with, we won't talk about how mine turned out. Yours looks great. Keep practicing on those feathers you will get better each time :)

newborn 07-28-2011 09:34 PM
