1st UFO out of +80 done !!

Since I became aware of HOW MANY UFOs I had, things have fallen into place to get me motivated to get them finished. This is the first one finished. It was made from squares from a collection of Elizabeth Studio She has a new panel out :

This quilt will be going to a Foster kid. Hope he likes it. Will have to make a pillowcase before it ships off. 3 tops are off to LAQs, I need to find time to piece the backing for three tops and 1 quilt is having the binding done by another friend.

That is really cute - I am sure than any foster kid will treasure it and love it.

ontheriver 04-17-2015 01:19 PM

Great looking quilt----it will be very special to him! Good luck in whittling down your UFO pile, sounds like you are on a roll! Perhaps treat yourself with a new project after every 10 UFOs completed to help keep you motivated?

LTeachergeorge 04-17-2015 03:07 PM

What an adorable quilt!!! 80 isn't really that many, in my opinion, anyway. LOL!!! I had 65 last count, and I'm sure I've started more since then. Keep at it!! I need some of your motivation! Please share any tidbits you may have! Thanks!

OMG! I thought I was the queen of UFO's....I have +40 and +80 kits with all the fabric and pattern ready to go. Now +40 doesn't seem like so much. I made a promise to myself that I would finish 20 before I started any new projects. I have done 5, one is ready to bind, and 10 ready to quilt on my long arm. Maybe by the end of the year I can start something new? FYI....it's killing me. I'm a great starter, but not a good finisher. One of my daughters think I have a touch of ADD or ADHD. lol

PenniF 04-17-2015 04:12 PM

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU !!!!!
I no longer feel guilty about the fabric, scraps, orphan blocks or the couple of UFO's or any other bits and pieces i have stashed in my craft room.....now that i have seen i am a piker and an AMATEUR compared to you wonderful ladies !!! And I have something to aspire to to get where you are.:)

Tweety2911 04-17-2015 04:23 PM

Your beautiful quilt will be a delight to any child! Very generous of you to donate it for such a great cause. Stay motivated :)

Your quilt is darling! I went to the site and boy, she has so many great fabrics!! Will have to start looking for some of them.

Quilter 65 04-17-2015 05:20 PM

While I don't have 80 or even close to that, when I listed all the fabric and quilt patterns that I was going to make, it put a serious dent in my desire to add new fabric. Now I am trying to get it made up. The quilt you posted for a foster child is very cute and I am sure will be cherished.

Mariposa 04-17-2015 05:25 PM

Really cute quilt! Great gift for a foster kid. Bless you for your generosity! :)

Bluebonnets 04-17-2015 10:32 PM

I love the humor in that panel! I know the child who receives it will cherish it for many years. It sounds like you have organized your UFOs and have a plan. I wish you success in whittling down the pile.

faykilgore 04-18-2015 04:19 AM

Love the fabric and the quilt! Can't believe I missed this fabric! I've got cats and frogs on motorcycles, but not snowpeople.

stitchingcrazy 04-18-2015 05:56 AM

I am sure the foster child will treasure your quilt. I wonder if you hold the record for having the highest number of UFO's on this board? Good luck and stay focused and keep us posted.
