I'm so happy for you, I haven't found any good garage sales yet. I make pillows for my grandkids with the fake fur. regular on one side fur on the other. They like it on their faces. I have never seen pillowcase dolls so make one so I can see. I hope you have lots of fun with all your fabric :D

WOW!!!! What a haul for such small change---I spent that much at a fabric shop last week and did not get near that much fabric or other things---In the one picture there is a fabric that is off white with red and blue roses and green leaves on it---if you are interested in selling it, I would love to have it---have been looking for it to finish a quilt for our bed I started 15 years ago. Let me know if you are, how much is there and how much you want for it.

It looks to me like the only thing you might be short of is time to use up all the fabrics and options they present.

What magnificent finds!!!! Have loads fo fun planning, cutting, sewing and giving joy to those grandchildren.

LOL Only one grandchild Teresa. The two short people in my avatar are mine; but I'll have a ball sewing for all my girls...even the oldest one, she's hitting me up for more bags LOL.

Thanks everyone...I'm still sorting and planning, and of course making those bags, bags and more bags. Theresa Marie (my oldest) is coming over tomorrow to start picking out which patterns she wants me to make for her munchkin...and put them with the fabrics she wants them done from. We'll have a ball!!

Mousie 05-04-2009 04:44 PM

gee whizza, i was counting, and lost count, when the drool started dripping. You made out like a bandit!!! I don't even have to ask if you had fun. I should go to some yard sales like that, but where would I put it? ....let's see...the washer, the dryer, the oven, the sink...all those places i won't have time for, that just take up space anyway

pittsburgpam 05-04-2009 06:32 PM

Only 2 garage sales?!?!? I want to live in your neighborhood!

mimee4 05-06-2009 04:24 AM

You are a major shopper. Good for you!

butterflywing 05-06-2009 07:46 AM

whoever made those blocks is probably spinning in her grave to see her kids sell them for $3.50. breaks your heart, doesn't it? now you owe it to her to do something nice with them. remember: if you save a life, it belongs to you to take care of it as your own. that's a native american philosophy.

ScrapQuilter 05-06-2009 07:55 AM

fantastic find - don't you just wish all garage sales were like the one.
Lucky you............ pick me up for the next sale. :-)

salisaquilter 05-06-2009 08:59 AM

I wanta shop where you shop. I would have died and gone to heaven unloading all of this. My mind would be working overtime just planning my projects. Thanks for sharing

borntoquilt 05-06-2009 03:52 PM

I think you hit the jack pot!! I need garage sale lessons from you. I don't have the drive to hit them all. :D :D

SewCin 05-08-2009 09:31 AM

unbelievable. we all need to find garage sales like that! i did find a few things at a flea market several weeks ago, but nothing like your haul. enjoy!!

MadQuilter 05-08-2009 09:55 AM

...and now you need to move because the $47 mother load is too much to fit in your sewing room. lol

Good for you!

I'm planning to go to the Thimblecreek quilt store (Concord CA) next Saturday and I don't "need" any more fabric (my room is filled to the gills.) DH suggested that I make a list of rulers and gadgets I might "need."
