Very nice piecing .... all those edges seem to perfectly match.

The gray is fine. I like gray. As caliquocat said, it does seem an unusual for a youngster to choose, but it works just fine! Nice work!

Your grandson has a good eye for color. The gray goes so well with all the other squares.
