They are beautiful. I think I like the second best. I like the borders

Wow, nice quilts--you must have had tons of scraps.

I guess you must have put a pretty good dent in your stash with those two pretty scrappies.

Scrappy quilts are my favorites.. I usually only make scrappy quilts. I really love the second one.. I like something like the shashing that pulls it all together.

Beautiful quilts, a job well done!

They're really fun! Good, thrifty use of "stuff"...Now, when asked, say: "I'm a fabric abstract artist." I like.

I like using "cornerstones" as it helps me get my blocks straight, but it also breaks up the solid color look of the sashing, which in the case of scrappy--I wasn't sure about doing...but decided to anyway, by using various 1.5" squares.

These are two I'm very pleased with. I have another one I finished recently but it is decidedly "not as good" in that the design (the colors) aren't as defined. Thus, the quilt ends up being kind of a mish-mash and not as pleasing to the eyes. Live and learn. From now on I'll do my scrappies with a bold or very light or bright sashing.

Very nice job! I really think that the sashing helps unify both quilts. What a wonderful way to master the scrap monster that lurks in all of our sewing rooms!

One of the speakers to visit my quilt guild last winter said to "lighten the load" of our scrappy quilts, we should use cotton batiste for the foundation of the squares. It's so much lighter and works good. It must be cotton and not cotton/poly to play well with the cotton quilting fabric. Sometimes it's hard to find, so when I do see it, I tend to buy several yards.

And your quilts are beautiful!!
