2 Scrappy Quilts Finished
6 Attachment(s)
Hello, I just finished these 2 scrappy over sized lap quilts for a couple elderly ladies in our congregation. As I had so many scraps thought I'd try out these patterns. Seems my scraps multiply during the night though as my container looks like I have more than what I started out with. Anyway, I realized some of the mistakes I made while stitching these up. On the Spiderweb don't use thin strips near either end as there will be lots of seams coming together there. I made 2 more of these scrappy quilts but used only reds/blues/purples/white as these will be mine for a change.
I custom quilted both of these and as I'm still a beginner in quilting, please don't look too close. I now have a larger quilt system so I no longer have to turn my quilts to do the borders which I'm very happy about. Hope you like them. |
Both are gorgeous!!! Your quilting is amazing.

You don't look like a beginner to me! Great scrap quilts and quilting! I did a Spiderweb scrap quilt and I agree with not using tiny pieces at the points. I ended up ironing the seams that all meet in the middle open. I won't do that again either! I don't like how I can see the seam stitching after the quilting.

Love the feather quilting on the border! Looks terrific and very inventive!

What a lovely gesture and what lovely quilts. I think your quilting's pretty good: don't underestimate yourself. These have been perfect for you to practice on as well. Thanks for the SWeb tips!
