I would like to thank my ss but they did not put their name on the card they included.
I got a oriental fabric, a panel, a bar of nice smelling soap and a whole bunch of fabrics to go with the panel.

THANK YOU!!!!

You're welcome! Those maple candies are to die for... in the spring and summer, there's some of those at every corner, every time you turn around there's another place selling them. But do you think I could find them when I needed them? NOPE. Went all over town looking for them. Found lots of poser maple candies, but not the right thing. I finally tracked them down and bought them. Just yesterday, while walking through the little mall next to my house I found a store that sells nothing but maple products... HOW could I not know that was there?!

The needles are by Golden Fleece, made in England, size 12 Sharps 6

True. Most of the time you can only find something you want when you are not looking for it.

I want to use pure maple syrup as a sweetner for teas, etc. but it is so expensive here. I will eat the candies sparingly so that they can last for a while.

wow, ligia! your stuff is awesome and I love the origami shirts...AND...I see someone else got crowned too, lol!
GMTA...my santa, (mcdaniel023 000:wink: ), presented me with my royal adornment too.
How much fun was all this? (answer: can never be too much  )
I love all the pressies everyone got, and all the good times, we all got to share. I can't even count the years since I went to a Christmas party, if you don't count the annual family get togethers.
Ligia, I just knew you were a princess from the moment we met. Lurkingdom sure is one lucky place to live , and I'm so happy you jumped right into the pool with us all. (you made quite a splash! )

k3n 12-16-2009 06:15 AM

Those origami FQs are sooo cute! Thing is, would you EVER want to unfold them to use? I wouldn't! :-D

How much is a can of syrop there? I can sometimes find it for around 7 or 8 bucks a can... We find that expensive for stuff that's manufactured in our back yards, lol! I can't even imagine how much they would cost elsewhere!

billswife99 12-16-2009 09:26 AM

Oh sweetie! I know just what you mean! When I found the instructions, my dil and I tried it on paper towels here at work. It was 3 weeks before we stopped showing them to everyone and finally threw them away! LOL

hi k3n........here is a pattern that you might interested you.

Perhaps it is the same that was used for the FQs...this one is used to make a shirt from a dollar bill.

(Do you have a dollar the size of ours with you ??????
If not, our bills are 6 1/8" x 2 5/8"...lololol

OK, what's the black thingie????? :D :D

It's a black canvas carry all, for keeping my sewing projects in. I can also use it to take my current project to my daughter's, when we sew together. I really really like it!!

Thanks, Miss Mousie !
Loved the opening party.
Jenell, sorry mispelling your name; I think I got it.
I wont unfold the cute shirts for a while; its a mess around the house boxes all over; I´m moving on Friday; will remain in the state, only on the hillside; will post pics later should you like to take a peek. Last things to be packed have to be pc and fabrics, dont want to disturb them in advance ...

We used to make it, though it was in the front yard, I lived on a farm in the Orillia area growing up and the drive was lined with sugar maples and the yard had a few more (the bush had more but it was to far to carry the sap, especially since we had lots already) She did everything with it and now I have a fit when I see the prices for it. though when I was on course way back in the military in Quebec, we went to the Caban a Sucre, (I knwo the spelling is off) (Sugar Shack) and boy was it good,

pvquilter 12-16-2009 03:38 PM

I haven't heard from the person I was SS too. Hope everything is OK!!

OrchidQuiltFish(OQF) 12-16-2009 03:44 PM

Melanie,

Pure Maple Syrup here cost between $15 to $30 for a 32 once jug. Depends on where you purchase it from. The health food stores are generally more expensive than the supermarkets.

Close. Cabanne à sucre. We go every year, boy is it good! Did you try 'la tire'? It's basically pure maple syrop, boiled down to evaporate a lot of the water content and then poured over cold (clean) snow so it hardens up (only a few tablespoons at a time). Then you take a popsicle stick and roll it in the little puddle so it all sticks to your stick instead of the snow and then you eat it... That's the best part of the Sugar Shack to me!

Actually, that's not as bad as I had imagined! Ours comes in about 500ml cans, which is about 17 oz. If two cans equal one of your jugs, then that's about 20 bucks right there, if you buy from a grocery store at 10 bucks a pop.
It's so yummy, but I guess it's something you use sparingly no matter where you live!

trupeach 12-16-2009 04:42 PM

Amazon.com sells a company named Brown Family Farm it is not that expensive especially when you do subscribe and save. Lots of times they even have specials with a % off. The pancake mix is yummo I sent it to Star for SS.

trupeach 12-16-2009 05:41 PM

Did anyone take pictures while we were at the party. I would like to see how we all fit in chat. I know Tippy had someones elbow in her ear and Miss Mouse was passing around a big plate of her fart cookies. It seemed to be wild at times. I myself sat very nicely in the corner watching the time go until the count down and we were able to open out pressies. So if anyone has any pic of chat please post them. thanks
