Thanks Audrey, I'll be sure to bring it to the guild when I get it back and get it quilted.

wow, I just got done skimming half of this thread ~ I have never done a RR ~ maybe next year when my schedule isn't so full, this seems like a lot of fun!

So if I don't sound too dumb here, you make the center, then everyone in your "group" passes quilts in order, and you end up doing each round on a different quilt? FUN! I am loving all these!

That's exactly how it works. And it is fun. Tries your thinking power sometimes to come up with something that will be just perfect for each quilt, but it is well worth it. I'm sure there'll be another starting after this one is done. You'll have to try it. I am so impressed with what people have done with my quilt, I can't hardly stand waiting to see what happens next.

it looks like fun ~ and I am a graphic designer of 27 years, so as my signature says, I let the fabric & established design tell me where to go next... I already have an inkling of what to do for a center block, are there pre-set measurements for each "round"?

That is up to the person that sets the rules. I've done a few of these and each one was different. Centers usually can't be larger than a set size, but often the size ( or width ) of the borders isn't set, everyone just decides as they work on the quilt.

In this IRR III the center can be no larger than the set size, I don't remember what it was. Our rounds were set at 3", 5", 6", 7", and 8". You really should join up next time it is so much fun.

I think the size for this swap was from 12 x12 to 24 x 24 inches....it could be square or equivalent size (oblong, or whatever)....fun for sure!
