If it's true that we learn from our mistakes, I'm going to be a freakin' genius!! I forgot to trim the corners before I turned the squares right side out, so the points are really bulky. Then I forgot to tack the points together before I started rolling the edges. Ooops. And next time I'm going to cut the inner squares larger and turn the hems, raw edges won't work.

The next one is going to be great: third time's the charm!

that's awesome!! I love it. Great job.
I don't see any problems with it at all.

tealady 09-27-2011 01:30 PM

Problems? What problems? Looks great to me.

amandasgramma 09-27-2011 01:34 PM

That is beautiful!!! I've never seen a CW with 3 colors --- is there a pattern out there I can look at???

leatheflea 09-27-2011 01:34 PM

Looks better than mine did! Great looking start!

campnut 09-27-2011 01:37 PM

I have looked at these patterns in quilting magazines. Yours looks really nice. A dear friend of mine says if you're riding past on a horse going 20 miles an hour will you notice the mistake?

blondeslave 09-27-2011 01:38 PM

LOVE it!

vjengels 09-27-2011 01:39 PM

Thanks for 'taking a couple for the team'! what you learned will save me. You're a good friend!

cyd 09-27-2011 01:40 PM

I have made several of these-love them all. It does get easier to get it all right.

GABBYABBY 09-27-2011 01:44 PM

They look very good to me, cute too. Don't worry about forgetting some steps. If we didn't make mistakes we would never learn anything, believe me that's how I learn, LOL! May in Jersey

No, I hadn't seen that tutorial, but it's a good one! That's a different method than what I used, but I'm going to try it on attempt #3. I think the points may come out neater.

Tweety2911 09-27-2011 04:37 PM

Wow 3 colors, love it!

Sewfine 09-27-2011 04:38 PM

"Nit-picky" is my middle name! Seriously, tho, Kevin, please notice that there is no close-up photo. It's gnarly looking. But you can compliment me anytime.

coastienest 09-27-2011 04:45 PM

Love the fact of using halloween fabrics. At least you keep trying. I'm a bit chicken in trying this pattern. Great job

:) :) you did a GREAT job "winging" it. I went out and searched...finally figured out (DUUUUH) that ALL of the patterns can have 3 colors -- just everyone always used 2 before!!! you've started a new trend!!!!
