3 quilts and a horse

5 Attachment(s)
The first quilt is a mini quilt, 9" x 9" that I donated to the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative. http://www.alzquilts.org/ It sold at auction for $146 and was made in memory of my Grandfather who had Alzheimer's.

The second mini quilt is 8" x 12" and was sold by the AAQI for $70. It was made in memory of my mother who also had Alzheimer's. It was rewarding to contribute to Alzheimer's research.

The third quilt was the most fun to make because of all the different blocks. The pattern is Four Star Generals by Yellow Creek Quilt Designs. I thought the civil war statue in our town was the perfect place to display this civil war quilt.

What beautiful quilts. I am partial to the civil war reproduction. My husband is a reenactor.

These are just stunning. I had to log on to comment. Just think the top one is gorgeous and so much work as a miniature. And what a great way to display a quilt on the horse!!!

Love your quilts. And I love the photo of your quilt on the horse. In my city we have a statue called "The Mill Girl" to represent all the young ladies who worked in the Amoskeag Mill factories. I've often thought of taking a photo of her with a quilt since the mills turned out fabrics for years and years.

How great of your town to have such a beautiful sculpture...wish more "towns" would consider doing that

pinkcastle 09-15-2013 03:50 PM

Your quilts are wonderful. I really like the picture of the one draped over the horse sculpture. Nice job!

redquilter 09-15-2013 03:57 PM

The mini's are lovely and so kind of you to make them and donate the $. The large quilt is stunning! You did an amazing job on that and I agree - the horse was the most perfect place to display it

That Civil War quilt is wonderful--and it is great on the horse--he looks a little skittish about it though! :)

daisydebby 09-15-2013 04:43 PM

Great quilts and a great cause:) The colors/patterns are really nice. Especially like the horse picture, I'd like to ride off on him with your quilt....

The quilt on the horse is beautiful and beautifully done! Your work is prizeworthy, for sure and I have never seen a more original or appropriate place to showcase such a quilt. You have done very, very well with quilt and display. Congratulations.

WMUTeach 09-17-2013 06:43 AM

How in the world did you get that horse, boy and dog to stand so still? Tee-Hee-Hee!!. Clever way to show off you "stuff".

gramquilter2 09-17-2013 06:58 AM

Really nice quilts, great job on all of them.

busynana 09-17-2013 07:01 AM

All three are beyond my expertise. They are just wonderful. Have to agree like the Civil War one too. My brother was a civil war group from MI. He so loved to visit the camp activities at the end of the day, seeing the families in period clothing and the crafts. He would often tell me about the quilts. Do like on the horse in town too.

Caswews 09-17-2013 10:59 AM
