Purchased these 3 red fabric quarters at the beginning of the year, with no idea what to do with them.
On Sunday suddenly decided to make a jacket. I knew I had some lovely black fabric so the jacket began. I had also made piece of fabric for something that became the inside.
Not quiet finished I need some spectacular buttOns to find. No pattern only ideas seen.

Photo taken angie shop by jenny. . Thank you to both

DOTTYMO 03-14-2014 11:13 AM

The reason for no head is my friend has. Rule no heads on her blog and this is going on.

carolstickelmaier 03-14-2014 04:28 PM

Nicely done! How about some Chinese gold coin type buttons. To me it has an oriental look to it.

craftyheart2 03-14-2014 07:36 PM

I agree this has an oriental feel and a little bit of gold (buttons or embroidery) would take it to the next level. It is stunning.

gabeway 03-15-2014 04:44 AM

nabobw 03-15-2014 06:00 AM

What an interesting construction job. Can't imagine just setting out to make a jacket from odds and ends and actually doing it too and having a classy finished product. Kudos to you.

What a fantastic jacket, you did a great job.

DOTTYMO 03-16-2014 12:33 PM

Thank you everyone. No pattern. I learnt dress making at my great aunts knee she was a tailor and never used patterns in the early 50's

quilterpurpledog 03-16-2014 01:02 PM

Excellent!

Grandma of 6 03-17-2014 04:46 AM

Beautiful. I'm jealous. I used to sew all of my kids' clothes. Now I'm afraid to do anything, even for my grandchildren. Quilting has turned me into a straight seam kind of gal.

debbieoh 03-18-2014 06:34 AM

It turn out beautiful. where did you find the pattern

Nonna Judi 03-18-2014 08:02 AM

Your jacket is amazing! You inspire me. I would use gold or black buttons.
