What a beautiful little girl and a wonderful quilt. Never too early to get children sewing. Unless there will be some way to connect sewing to video games, sewing will be a lost art.

solstice3 10-15-2013 03:16 AM

the 2 of you did quality work. Keep teaching her!!!

candicane 10-15-2013 03:20 AM

Look at the Pride in that beautiful little girl's eyes! Wonderful job to the young quilter & to Grandma for taking the time to share your craft with your granddaughter. Making memories that'll last a lifetime! :)

I have an almost 4 yo (official on October 17). She comes in when I'm sewing and scrunches in between my little table at a right angle to my machine, or scrunches on the other side by the ironing board and just watches! She's done that since she's been 2..have to keep reminding her "don't touch, you'll get owies" (either from pins or the iron). She always asks if I'm making her a "kilt". Maybe will have to start her out!! Certainly can't let her little sister in the sewing room (she's 18 mos). She is a whirling dervish wherever she goes!! I think LeeAnn (the 4 yo) is going to be my little sewing buddy!!

Beautiful 1st quilt and granddaughter. They are so much fun to start a life of quilting with.

MargeD 10-15-2013 10:53 AM

I'd say she has a pretty good sense of color, as those were great fabric choices. She looks so proud and she should be. I once had the profound pleasure of helping a 6 year old make a doll quilt, it was so much fun and she was so proud. I can't wait to see if our DGD who just turned 3, might be interested in quilting - she does like the quilts I make her. I really hope she likes the twin size quilt I finished piecing just before my shoulder surgery in May -now I'm waiting for my shoulder to heal enough so that I can quilt it before Christmas. Wish me luck. I'm so glad you had that wonderful experience to share, you both look very intense about what you were doing. Love it.

She has a good eye for color and did a great job on her quilt, She will be an expert by the time she is 10

katesnanna 10-15-2013 04:57 PM

Another quilter in the making. Well done to both of you.

QandE2010 10-15-2013 05:27 PM

Both the quilt and your DGD are so very cute. Keep her interested and she'll go far!

fallonquilter 10-24-2013 06:15 PM

What a cutie!! It is so nice of you to take the time to teach her. I bet she would love to make her own pillowcase with maybe a fairy fabric or frogs or cats. They are real easy to do and fast to complete.

marsharini 11-02-2013 03:36 AM

How cute is she and her little quilt!
