It's a beautiful top. I have ripped out stitches also, if you are not happy that is the way to go. I am sure the second time around will be the charm :)

Just a wonderful quilt top, great job and thank you for sharing. Sorry you had so many problems. I am an old Navy gal married to an old Navy guy so I love the red, white and blue.
Have a Blessed day
Ellen

Interesting you should say that, Ellen! I intend to send this little quilt, which is only a table topper or a wall hanging, if they prefer, to my friend, Emily, whose husband is a retired Navy officer. She's been very supportive of my quilt "therapy" and has sent me many quilt magazines. I'm hoping she and Frank will like my 4th of July offering!

It is very pretty. I can't see the quilting. Love the design and the colors!

I can't see the quilting either so in my book, that makes it just fine as is. I think this little quilt is just darling! I love, love, love that border fabric! I have a bunch of 2.5" strips that I want to make a Jelly Roll Race out of (for a QOV) & need a good border fabric. Where did you find that (or what brand is it?)? It's great!

Guilty. I have ripped out and redone and was then satisfied. How crazy is that? Hours and hours spent picking out stitches - hmmmm

Love the interwoven squares! Super patriotic!

Thanks! Labyrinth is a great pattern.

There is no quilting in this photo; it's just the top....including threads I hadn't yet clipped! I may post a photo of the quilted version when I get the binding on. Also, this is small....a table topper or wall hanging. The block is 16" and with the borders it measures 26 inches.

The dark blue starry and the white stars fabric (the red is fabric I already had) is from Joann's and was 50% off. All their red, white and blue fabric was and still is, on sale. I bought a RWB stripe yesterday for binding at 50% off. The selvedge on these fabrics read: Made exclusively for Joann's. It is, of course, 100% cotton.

I rip out quilting stitches if I don't like the way it looks.

Yes, I have ripped out ALL the stitching on a wall hanging I was making. I had embroidered THE BEAUTITUDES-ten blocks and put sashing between all the blocks and a border around it. It was beautiful until I tried to stitch in the ditch around all the blocks. They kept shifting and when I got done it looked terrible. I took out all the stitching (I had used invisible thread) and put it aside for about a month. I decided I was going to finish it or throw it out so I used a heavier backing on it-pinned it really, really well-then did the stitch in the ditch thing again. It turned out beautiful. Glad I tried again.
