I made these this weekend. I know they are different from traditional baby quilt prints but I really like them.
I will show the whole quilt and a close up of each so please be patient with me while I get them loaded.
Thank you for looking.

Edited to say: This pattern is called a super sized 9 patch and measures 35in X 40in.

Another rugrats but the stripes run a different direction

Super job

Beachbaby12 03-20-2011 07:01 AM

Very nice - wish I could accomplish that much. Am still struggling as a beginner with piecing for machine quilting. I got the hang of hand quilting and think that is my thing - at least so far.

cjomomma 03-20-2011 07:13 AM

Thank you! Now to get started on some girl baby quilts. :-)

quiltgran2 03-20-2011 07:16 AM

Colorful and happy childrens quilts!

redquilter 03-20-2011 07:20 AM

Oh, they are so cute. Who says a baby quilt has to be "traditional"? Babies like bright colors and these will carry over beyond babyhood! I have that pattern but never made it. I keep forgetting about it. Glad you reminded me!

katyquilter 03-20-2011 07:22 AM

RUSewing 03-20-2011 07:29 AM

QuiltnNan 03-20-2011 07:29 AM

Very cute, and I'm sure they were quick to make! I remember a similar pattern that uses 3 1-yd cuts and you end up with three quilts. Hummm--just another one of those things that I still need to quilt!!

pamkasperi 03-20-2011 08:47 AM

Wow - I'm partial to the rug rats quilt! But then again I had 5 kids who were all small during the hey day of the rug rats and I can repeat shows word for word we watched them so much!

Happy Stitchin' Linda B.

These are all quilts that will be sold at a charity event to help raise money for babies born with heart defects. The money will help the families with expenses when they have to travel out of town for Dr.s appointments. I will personally sell these quilts at the event. They will receive part of the profits after I spend a whole Saturday standing out in the hot sun. I do have a quilt that will be auctioned in a silent auction at the charity event. I'm really looking forward to it but I also will be glad when it's over.

Thank you! People who know me say that I am always trying to be different and do things my way instead of how others do it. I guess I like being different. LOL!!!

Our quilting club works with a pregnancy center to help young mothers-to-be (and some fathers-to-be!) to make a baby quilt. This was the pattern we used. We had all the pieces cut and each "mom" or "dad" picked a kit and were then helped by a club member to make the quilt. We all had a lot of fun and each mom or dad left with a quilt!

Carrie, those are fun fabrics!
