I am fortunate enough to still be friends with girls from high school. We are planning a birthday celebration because we have been friends for 47 years and all turn 65 this year. I decided to make quilts for all of them to honor our friendships and show them just how much they mean to me. We try and have at least one girls night out every year and are still undecided how to celebrate this big event, but that is when I will present the quilts to them. I hope they love them as much as I loved making them. I wrote the little label poem in my head while riding on the back of my husbands motorcycle on our trip home from Lancaster! Enjoy. What a fantastic thing you did to make those quilts for all your besties! I love the split 9P in the teals but teal is my favorite color so any pattern in those colors I would love. I bet it will be a great get together this year with those wonderful quilts presented. Edited to add, the poem is great. I think about many things when I am on the bike too. But I can't let my mind wander quite so much as I am in the drivers seat. :thumbup:

Beautiful quilts that they are going to love & cherish. Your poem is perfect! How are you going to decide who get which quilt? When I used to make gifts for Christmas to give to the other gals I found I had to give them all the same thing. :) Your kindness is awesome.

Thanks for the compliments. I forgot to mention that I did not do the quilting. My great LAQ did and I used the same quilting pattern, Irene Swirls, for all of them so they would all have something in common besides the label.

I'd be happy to get any of these, and I really like the tiny floral in the first one - it seems to blur the edges of the pattern in a really nice way.

Wow, what some great gifts. Posted a week ago that 4 of us high school friends are getting together and I made them iPad covers. My gift doesn't seem quite as nice, as we are all turning 65 this year too. Nothing better than staying connected to old friends. Have a great time together.
