This quilt top was made by a friend of mine and she asked me to quilt it for her. (I was having a permanent panic attack the whole time I was quilting it) It is going to be auctioned at the annual Cystic Fybrosis Association Fundraising Ball.
The centre was McTavished and I cross hatched the outer areas, all on my DSM. (Wish I had a longarm, hint hint to DH might be in order :P )

I'm impressed! You did a wonderful quilting job! Do you have a photo of the center? I'm new and I don't know what McTavished is, but I'm hoping to learn some techniques I can use on my DSM.

Beautiful quilt and a worthy cause. As soon as I saw the post title, I wondered if it was for Cystic Fibrosis. A family I'm friends with just loss their 22 year-old son/brother to the disease a couple of months ago.

That is beautiful. It wouldn't happen to be 65 roses for Patti Sue would it? I follow a cf blog online, and that is her name.

cctx. 05-05-2011 07:17 AM

OMG.....I made this quilt in 2002, and still have the pattern and book here at home (it's featured on the front cover of "Applique Quilts" ~ The Australian Country Craft Series/Craftworld Books).

It's beautiful.
Did you read the little story why it's called 65 Roses?
The little boy could not say "cystic fibrosis" (his older sister had Cystic fibrosis) and he would pronounce it "65 Roses".

Awesome work!

DebraK 05-05-2011 07:17 AM
