my seven year old son and 10 year old daughter made their first quilt tops not too long ago. they Chose the fabrics themselves and ran the machine (i guided it for the 7 year old) these quilts have a lot of character hidden in them. My daughter found a UFO of mine that i started as a baby quilt and she used that as a center medallion.

I am very proud of them and they were very ambitious for first tries. They will be well loved.

Gorgeous!!! I bet they can't wait to see their creations finished and in use. (I'd love to see pics too... :D )

And hat off to you for supporting their creativity and not talking them out of their "ambitious" first projects. I love you for that.

Wonderful mom for taking the time. The girls will remember your love and willingness to take the time with them. Quilts will be a reminder to them of time spent together.:)

What great quilts!
Both are well-designed and will instill the thought of ability to be creative in future endeavors, regardless of whether it's in fabric or not. Lucky little ones to have you as their mom!

What a great job they did. You should be very proud Mom as these could put some season quilter's to shame. (Me especially)

Peggyinno 01-04-2011 09:34 AM

They did a great job  I hope they continue to have the quilting bug!

misseva 01-04-2011 10:10 AM

You know the best part of this besides the beautiful quilts? It's your SON and daughter. A lot of sons are forgotten when it comes to quilting. Even if they do not pursue quilting as they get older - you will always have someone who knows what goes into a quilt and can appreciate your work.

Cuddly Quilter 01-04-2011 10:35 AM

Well done kids
