7 Scrappy Quilts
7 Attachment(s)
I wanted to use some of my scraps before so I made 7 scrappy quilt tops, one for each of my 6 grandkids for beach quilts & an extra one. I'm really pleased with how they look. Still have to quilt & bind them. Time to start collecting scraps again. LOL

Have a Blessed night Ellen |
Wowsers! How neat they are! I am not sure I will ever catch up with my scraps, although this gives me encouragement! :)
|
All of your quilts are fun to look at, but the first got a longer look! It is wonderful. Is it an original pattern?
|
What a great way to use up your scraps. Your quilts are most beautiful.
|
The first one is not an original pattern. dorismary2001 had posted a photo a while back & she told me how she made hers. The triangles are 60º triangles. I cut 60º triangles 8" deep out of newsprint paper that I buy at a dollar store, the same paper I use for paper piecing. It tears off better than anything else I have used. Doris used a lightweight interfacing instead of paper. The first strip is always a darkish or bright color but otherwise the strips are random colours and widths. Just kept adding them till the paper is covered and then trim fabric before removing the paper. If you have any questions just PM me

The are all great!! You have been busy!
|
I love to use up my scraps and people are even giving me some from my guild as I make things and show them what they wanted to toss. Bonnie Hunter has so many scrap ideas that you never have to toss them. When I cut off pieces and end up with triangles I put by machine and use them instead of scraps to sew on to keep thread waste to a minimum. Beautiful quilts. I made the spider web using the Missouri Star Quilt Company's spider web template and they paper. Our guild has a challenge to make and quilt with plaids and stars and I am using up my scraps from quilts for soliders and homespun scraps.

Great scrappies.. hopefully you made a serious dent in your scrap supply! Mine just never seems to go down!

Such wondeful scrappies, you sure have been busy. Love them all.

Wow! They're all fabulous! And I'm so glad you have an extra one. I'll be watching the mail every day, waiting for it to arrive... LOL! Seriously, they are awesome & I can't believe anyone would take one of those little beauties to the beach! You should post these pictures on the scrap & the string quilt threads... they'd be a big hit over there, too! Great job!
|
They are wonderful! I havent done a thing with my scraps except sending 'em off in a PIF. I need to rethink that, especially after seeing that first one!
