I would add a blue border and also bind it in the same color. It will look finished. It is a beautiful quilt.

Can you put the dark blue on an edge (maybe just pin it on) - just to take a picture & let us see that?
|
I think I would bring the blue back out -either as a narrow border or the binding.
|
I vote for the narrow dark blue border too -- sorta says, "This is the end." Love the fabrics and layout!

Being a former quilt judge I would say that you need a not too wide dark border. It will "frame" your quilt. Now, when I first looked at it I had to squint to really see your last light border.
Good luck in your decision. It's a beautigul quilt no matter what you do!!! Happy Holidays. Kutnso |
Beautiful as is, Red binding would be perfect!

You're the one who mentioned "sparkly" - so..... Personally, I would add the darker pieced border. And here's why - The quilt is great as it is, but look how the light border just disappears, even against the wall. It fades out. The darker border will frame the whole quilt, and then the lights will REALLY sparkle. I agree with this selection. Solid blue border ( about 2 inches) and matching binding. No red |
I like as is.

I think it's gorgeous just like it is!

i would add a narrow (1 " - 2") border in one of the colors but in a darker shade to 'contain' the colors. i would bind it in the same color as the border. that's just me.
beautiful work. how long did it take you to make it? |
