Butterflyspain 04-15-2011 11:57 PM

Thanks Patti, turned out better than I though it would, those scrolls are a bit fiddly it has to be said.

JudyG 04-16-2011 06:50 AM

Sure am loving the colors you are using, Elle. That's going to be a stunning quilt.

Butterflyspain 04-16-2011 07:10 AM

Thanks Judy, but all the quilts are going to look spectacular and its going to be great to see them when we get the final 16 centre blocks done. I am so looking forward to that

Elle and Judy: love your blocks! Isn't amazing how the different color placements make the same block look so differen? Just lovely.

Butterflyspain 04-16-2011 01:19 PM

JudyG 05-05-2011 06:12 AM

I don't think yours looks plain at all, Elle. Those pink hearts just pop. I love your block the way it is.

Well I changed my mind about the scroll blocks and here is my #17 not so good but I am sure I will get better with practice

Butterflyspain 05-15-2011 11:18 AM

Looking good, I donīt like them either, but they seem to be a necessary evil. Love your colours on this one

Mousie 05-15-2011 03:37 PM

mmm, nice, yummy block, Lynnie! :D

sandpat 05-15-2011 04:41 PM

Lynnie, looks like you did a fabulous job on them! I really like this block of yours!

d.rickman 05-15-2011 07:46 PM

Lynnie, I don't see anything wrong with them either.

When I post pics on QB - I see all the little imperfections, but in real life, and on my camera they look ok - perhaps we are too hard on ourselves....LOL.

Yes I feel like the quilting police are going to send me off to the big house becase my blocks aren't perfect. I am very hard on myself. I think I need to be perfect at everything I try and This is the first time I have done applique' so I think I need to go easy on myself. Especially doing 7" blocks and needle turning them thanks for all the great comments love seeing all the blocks

Mousie 05-21-2011 09:05 AM

lynnie...don't forget, your holding yourself up on so many new things, to quilters that have a lot of experience...more than many of us, anyway.
Once all us June 5-er's start posting, your going to be feeling ever so much better about all your hard work etc.
hugs, I think you know what I'm trying to say...I'll just be happy to be doing it...however long it takes for each block, and I'm sure you'll hear plenty of grumbles about those scrolls.
I think that's why i'm procrastinating  ;)

QuiltswithConvicts 05-21-2011 01:23 PM

Lynnie, your blocks have all been BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Please, don't put yourself down. You are doing a wonderful job. When you get them all laid out together, you may be surprised at just how beautiful they all look as a group. You see all your little oopses & we don't. We see the beautiful block you produced.

I keep looking at my center unit that I have abandoned & I see a fairly nice center. I was just not happy with the bobbin work I was getting - I have such bad arthritis in my hands, that when I'm working and concentrating so hard, I get jerky & it shows in the bobbin work. I am enjoying the hand work in the evenings. I guess I have reverted back into my comfort zone. I have also freed up my weekend days for machine sewing. Got a new book & am going to make a quilt for DH & his new office.

Lynnie, keep up your wonderful work!

lynnie k 05-21-2011 06:40 PM

Thanks for all the encouragment I have been trying to get these blocks done, some take longer than others but I am not giving up. I am very hard on myself I think everything should be perfect. I guess it's because I was taught that if you are going to do something, do it right the first time. I guess it doesn't apply to quilting because I find I need to keep trying and I will get better with practice. I think I have learned alot from all of you here and I am so grateful for all the help you have given me. I am really having fun and learning a lot. Thanks to all of you. I love seeing all the wonderful blocks you all are making

Tweety2911 05-21-2011 06:49 PM

Yes Elle, I'm doing the 7" which is why I complain --a LOT! But I'm hanging with it and will finish it one way or another...
