A lot of scrolls on this block, so perhaps leave it until a bit later, so you have had some practice before you tackle this one.

Butterflyspain 05-04-2011 10:54 PM

See what you mean, yuk I still donñt like scrolls and yours are perfect Lesley

Believe me, yours will be by the time you get this quilt done, then they won't hold any terrors and you will be able to needleturn anything you like after this is done.

Beautiful block. Wish I could do that.

labug 05-05-2011 05:20 AM

Nice work

sandpat 05-05-2011 06:36 AM

Oh, I haven't looked, but I at least hope that this is one that I'll blow up to 10"!! Those scrolls are monsters to me!

d.rickman 05-07-2011 11:44 PM

Beautiful Block, again really nice work.

Busy last couple of days, managed to get two blocks done.
Here is Block 19

sandpat 05-08-2011 05:14 AM

Pretty Donna! Love your cute little flower center!

Butterflyspain 05-08-2011 05:37 AM

The fussy cutting looks so good in the middle. did do a lot of fussy cutting on DJ but not on this one. Real pretty

JudyG 05-08-2011 06:51 AM

Bright and pretty, Donna. I love your flower in the center.

Lacelady 05-08-2011 04:25 PM

Lovely colours. Your quilt is going to look so pretty.

I finally figured out the curlie wurlies, I was making them too fat, that is why the block looked very crowded to me, I redid Block 19 - here is a new pic...

Lacelady 05-09-2011 03:54 AM

Well done, they look very nice, and I love the colours.

sandpat 05-09-2011 05:03 AM

It does look better Donna...nice job!

d.rickman 05-09-2011 09:59 AM

Thanks ladies, yes now I'm much happier.

Roxanne 06-08-2011 09:06 AM

Started this one this morning---have only gotten 2 pieces sewn! Oh man, this is a killer. I think Patti is right, this block needs to be blown up (not literally) but enlarged. Or either fused and stitched by machine. I'm not sure which way I'll continue. Groan groan....

Jammin' Jane 06-08-2011 10:33 AM

Looks great!

Roxanne, I so agree with you. I picked this one up and started it, well I pinned a couple of pieces in place. Then I put it down and there it has lay. Will get back to it, but I think its one I am going to pickup and put down and do another block in between.

Elle,

I took the two pieces off the background, put the pattern back in the book and found another to work on---I'm like you, I'll go back to it another time.

Butterflyspain 06-08-2011 01:36 PM

Problem is, we are going to end up with all the curly wurly ones at the end if we keep doing this LOL

Donna Mare 06-08-2011 02:22 PM

That looks very difficult..... itsa beauty though

Lesley and Donna, awesome commas, your blocks are perfect!
I absolutely hated working on this one, yikes, so glad it is done.
Rox, have you finished yours or what? Don't leave all the hard ones for later, you will have hard time finishing. What got me through this one is that the next two I have cut have NO COMMAS! Woo hoo!

This one is 19 out of 36, more than half way done  Well, not counting the border, I still don't know what I am doing with that.

Butterflyspain 09-12-2011 10:51 AM

Ooooh thats gorgeous, love it and I love your fussy cutting WOW

Deecee 09-12-2011 01:02 PM

Great work on the commas. I haven't got to any of these yet and I am not looking forward to them.

Roxanne 09-12-2011 03:50 PM

Great job Candi!
I just finished this block yesterday and it wasn't too bad. I'm working on #1 today and I'll probably jinx myself by saying it is going well. I can't find my camera (it's in hiding amongst the fabric somewhere) but will post new pics as soon as I locate it.

I'm having a hard time keeping up with all the posts, but at least try to spot check them as often as I can.

sandpat 09-12-2011 06:00 PM

Oh...I marked the background for this one last night. I'm not really looking forward to this one. I'm just happy that it is one that I enlarged from the 7"...now that will be hard!

Great job Candi! I love your fussy cut leaves and your "commas" look just fine to me!

luvmortherest 09-12-2011 09:59 PM

beautifu;

candi 09-13-2011 04:52 AM

Thanks, ladies.
I get to work on fun easy ( compared to this one) blocks next:25 and 24, probably not until the weekend, but I may sneak in ten minutes here and there after work, we'll see.

ann clare 09-13-2011 10:50 AM

Beautiful block, Candi

Deecee 09-13-2011 12:44 PM

Nice bit of extra embroidery ann clare and great scrolls.

luvmortherest 09-13-2011 01:21 PM

beautiful

sandpat 09-13-2011 04:41 PM

Gorgeous Ann C...beautiful job! Me...I'm still scared of it! LOL!

candi 09-14-2011 04:13 AM

Beautiful block, Ann. Love the extra embroidery and I see you too did the Luther hearts in one piece, I am still not sure if it easier or harder trying to turn under one big piece or many small pieces, lol.

Pat, you CAN do it, it might not be that much fun, but you can do it! Just plan a real fun block like 25 or 24 right after it

Roxanne 09-14-2011 08:35 AM

AC, Beautiful block and I love the additional embroidery. I too added an additional layer of embroidery as I thought it looked a little skimpy.

Funny, but I put off doing all the scroll blocks but once started, I find them quite easy. This block went together quite quickly and I'm doing # 1 now.

Still haven't found my camera, grrrrr.

ann clare 09-14-2011 10:52 AM

Thanks for the kind comments.
