Please test first on a scrap, I think a cotton lace would work better than a nylon one.

What a great idea about dying the lace!

I started to say that too...to "Lace", lol!
(of course she would have lacey ideas ;-) )

Sharks teeth border is beautiful. Love the corners.

Leslie,
The colored lace was my initial thought as I really wanted multi color but only found the white at Joann's. Hmmm, painting or dyeing could be doable for me and my limited abilities. Don't think I can get into too much trouble with it.

Are acrylic paints for use on fabric or does this require a special paint? and I know nothing about fabric inks!

Oh, oh, oh!!! I love the idea of the dying the lace! Can't you just do it like you are tie-dying an old tee shirt? Remember how we all did those in the ...well...back in the day..LOL!

Rox...great dream you had...can't wait to see your dye results!

Ahh Patti, we are sooo dating ourselves with the tie die stuff..Yeah, I remember those days and will probably try it.

Rox you can buy fabric paints or if you already have acrylics you can add a fabric medium to them.

I think fabric dye would be more durable with washing though and you could blend different colours through the lace very nicely.

I use my acrylics with fabric medium but mainly for wall hangings that won't be washed.

P.S. I'm obviously too young to remember tie-dying.
