This quilt is made entirely from my scrap box....and I still can't get the lid on it. The pattern is from the April 2019 issue of the American Patchwork and quilting magazine. It is not a difficult pattern but it takes lots of time to make. I could not strip piece it due to using scraps so I did the math and cut the 2972 pieces I needed to make it. I even used those left over pieces of binding on the outside edge. I used everything and anything in the blocks and somehow, it all went together. I debated on adding the teal blocks but I am glad I did. They gave that little bit of spark tot he quilt.

Mary that is gorgeous! I bookmarked that pattern for some day! Love yours!

Bobbinalong 12-17-2019 10:50 AM

Ooh, I do like that. What size do you cut the pieces?

toverly 12-17-2019 11:09 AM

Great Scrappy! Love the border effect. I think scrap fabrics are like dust bunnies, they multiply when we are sleeping.

ckcowl 12-17-2019 11:58 AM

Oh my goodness! Beautiful and you are right, the teal ( sparkles) are perfect. One of the best scrap quilts I’ve seen.

Your quilt is lovely. I really like your colors. I made the same quilt in fall colors. I agree, it's not difficult but it was a lot of stitching and cutting but it did use up some scraps.

Those are both beautiful quilts. I love making things from my scraps. It's a good feeling to see something so beautiful and well done with what you already have. That pattern is a really great one.

Love the original post. I wouldn't have considered the pattern at first but maybe I will now. Love both of the different color ways.

Beautiful quilt!

toogie 12-17-2019 05:50 PM

Ladies, I think they are both gorgeous! I know I've only been quilting a short time, but how can one have this many pretty fabric scraps to make a quilt these sizes! I am flabbergasted!:D

The pieces are 1 1/2 by 2 1/2 inches.

LAF2019 12-17-2019 06:43 PM

Sometimes I forget how beautiful Scrappy can be!

zozee 12-17-2019 06:48 PM

Wow! Gorgeous. The saturated jewel tones are so rich. I can’t fathom cutting almost 3000 pieces, though! 1.5x2.5 is small!!

UtahQuiltNut 12-17-2019 06:54 PM

Gorgeous!!!

SouthPStitches 12-17-2019 07:07 PM

Beautiful quilts. Love the deep vibrant colors and also the Fall colorway. I have an enormous bag full of 1 1/2" strips. Tired of making small 9 patches and log cabins. Thank you for the inspiration.
