OK as we all know our scraps multiply during the night.. and Im aiming to tame the baskets.... So ive been staying up late, neglecting the dishes and laundry for the last week.. oh don't get me wrong my kitchen is cleaned when i need to eat and deserve a break from sewing.. but its on my terms and no one else's.. lol.. I was in the mindset to sew, just sew, with nothing in mind.. this is what i came up with..
This one is made from scraps cut out using the Accuquilt Go die 6in tumbler.. this one is from 4.5 sqs cut with my Go die and leftover 2.5 strips from bindings i had stashed in drawers that definitely needed to be used and out of my way.. this one used my 5in sqs from my 2011-2012 swap - i ran out of blue but i made do... im a scrap quilter.. i use and HOARD my scraps.. I also feed mt fabric addiction with Layer cake swaps... if anyone is interested the Jan swap ( dates extended) is open .. http://www.quiltingboard.com/member-...p-t236954.html Come join us! |

I am trying to use up my scraps. Seems I still have scraps left from the scrappy quilts I have made. I really don't think it is possible to use them all up. |

Beautiful quilts! I also make lots of scrap quilts. My last 2 log cabin quilts had over 200 different fabrics in each quilt.

I love making quilts from scraps ... I just made a quilt with twelve orphan blocks using the Dancing Nine Patch on Bonnie Hunter's site as inspiration. I bought flannel for the back and it goes in the pile for the longarm ... I love seeing a finished quilt made from scraps.
|
what you did got me off my butt and to cutting and pcing. thank you.
your quilts are just great. |
Nice quilts!
|
Love all your quilts! I have the tumbler die and can't wait to use it.
|
Nice quilts! On the tumbler quilt, did you sew across first (as the quilt is shown) sewing the wide edges, then the smaller edges, etc? Or did you sew the columns down, sewing the tumbler blocks side to side? I ask because I'd like to do one.

Nice work! And how much fun to keep sewing and sewing and sewing with your scraps, and letting the dishes go!
