'Allium' - a confetti art quilt

2 Attachment(s)
Hi all - here's a little (12") square art quilt I just finished. I used the confett technique to make the allium then embellished with FMQ and beads. It was really fun to do and I will definitely be doing more confetti. I put a step by step guide to how I did it on my blog if anyone wants to give it a try. Thanks for looking...

You haven't seen my UFO boxes!!hehe!!!!!!!!!!:rolleyes::p

k3n 11-15-2011 01:10 AM

I forbid you to call them UFOs as that implies you won't finish them - call 'em WIPs, that's what I do! ;)

So beautiful. Very creative.

Fantastic technique!!! I love it. The way you used the green and purple thread really makes the quilting stand out. The beads would make it shimmer.
What about your mandala quilt, is that still a WIP or is it a UFO:D:p

SueDor 11-15-2011 02:41 AM

You are a true artist. Beautiful and the colors blend nicely.

I love your art piece and thank you so much for showing us how you did it. Now I need to start saving my super small scraps and organize by color. We can certainly get every penny's worth out of our stash. Could this technique be used for very fancy mug rugs?

Judith1005 11-15-2011 06:43 AM

Oh wow!! Gorgeous! Thanks for the instructions on your blog, now I know why I save every little snippet. Another item added to my todo list

k3n 11-15-2011 08:56 AM

I guess you could do something similar for mug rugs, perhaps without the beads. I'd be careful of the organza though - the one I used is polyester and quite delicate.
