Old timer quilters deliberately left a mistake in their quilts, to identify it as theirs. And as the Amish say, "Only God is perfect."

alaskasunshine 01-12-2011 09:14 AM

Carrie, that quilt is so pretty and the layout is sweet!

okiepastor 01-12-2011 09:15 AM

Thank you all for the wonderful suggestions you have given me during this process.

Thank you!
As far as I know there is not a pattern for it. I just made it up as I went along. I don't want to call it my own pattern just incase it already exsists.

cjomomma 01-12-2011 09:45 AM

Thank you everyone! I have really enjoyed coming up with this quilt.

malega 01-12-2011 10:05 AM

JMHO, I think you should leave the one turned wrong. It could be your signature.

The SQ's are 6 1/2 inches. The strips are 2in.

conniebrooks 01-12-2011 11:56 AM

Thanks for the information. They looked bigger in the pic.
I have some 12 in. charm cakes I needed an idea for. But I could do the same with the 12 in. Don't you think? Or would that be too big.??????????
Connie

You can use any size block you want. Just let your imagination go wild.

cmapco837 01-12-2011 02:29 PM

Actually you use 7 strips. I am posting pictures to show how I moved my templet.
I will edit the pictures after they load.

In this pic. my center line (the dotted line not the solid line) on the templet is between the 2 dark colors. Cut out the SQ and then move the templet down or up, depending on where you started.

and in this 1 the center line (the dotted line) is berween the cream and the pink. As you can see I kept moving the templet back and forth to one side or the other of the pink with the dark flowers.

How long are your strips?? Isn't there a lot of waste?

CarlaHope 01-12-2011 02:48 PM

That is beautiful, I really like the colors also.

My strips were the width of fabric. There is little waste for me because I use all the left overs for scrappies. By the time I throw my left overs away they are less than a 1/2in in size.
