The Amish culture represents many communities that vary widely. Many of them adopt different rules and ways of doing things; for example, some Amish communities have rubber tires on their buggies while others still only have wooden spoke tires. The Amish community where these quilts come from are free to use printed fabrics in their quilts, which enables the Amish quilter to express her artistic ability that much more when making a quilt.

I found this quilt at a local Amish farm--I don't know what the official name of the pattern is; the Amish lady just called it a Dahlia. It sure is beautiful, isn't it!
