It's really lovely. The fact that all the arches aren't perfect just shows that it is homemade and makes it better in my opinion.

I was asked to make a baby quilt for a friend of a friend. My instructions were to ‘make it pink and embroider the babies name on it’. I found the Lemoyne star paper pieced pattern for an 8 inch block for the corners and I enlarged it to a 14 inch block for the center. I did it all from my stash of fabrics. One small point of interest is that I do all of my quilting on a domestic sewing machine so I am always looking for easy ways to keep it straight and true without time consuming rulers and marking. The white on white polka dots made for an easy way to keep the little arches going straight and true even though they are not all perfect.

Oh what a sweet quilt. Great job!

Your quilt is lovely - so much more than just your comission to "make a babyquilt and embroider her name on it!" Just a beautiful piece of work - an heirloom. :)

I sure hope the recipients recognize the fabulous work in this quilt. The FMQ is just too wonderful and the piecing on the quilt is great......WOW! It's WONDERFUL....:)
