Very nice work, and very thoughtful of you. Better than a card.

What a lovely tribute to his mother.I find sympathy card just too overwhelming. I like the new trend of celebrating a persons life.

A few questions. Do you use batting in any of these art works. Since this picture doesn't have binding how do you do the seams. All of your work is beautiful.

Generally I just fuse the top fabric to the back. No batting or binding. But, I do have a few quilts that I have treated like a regular quilt, sandwiched etc. If I were to use it as a regular quilt, I would satin stitch, zig zag or something all the edges to be sure that nothing came loose later - just like any applique quilt.

These condolence quilts I just make from a fat quarter (one for top, one for back).

Beautiful work and a wonderful thoughtful gift! You are very talented. I saw mention of a book. Is it about this type of cutwork?

Yes, my book will tell how to choose the pic and make the sketch, then create the quilt, using this Cut Work technique.

OK, what's the deal about a book? Is it book on how to do this and if not, does anyone know of a tutorial on how to do this? I love this and would love to know how to do it.

Send me a PM and I will let you know more.
