I don't send sympathy cards - I make quilts.
Taking the photo from the obit, I create a portrait on a fat quarter to give to the family.
This is John, hubby of one of the quilters in our employee quilt show.

That is wonderful.....do you use snips of fabric to do the portrait, or is it some type of pen or pencil? If it's fabric, is it fused applique? It really is interesting!!

It is a fused applique technique which I call Cut Work Portraits.
