You don't need drafting classes just some good old fashioned graph paper and start drawing ;)> and coloring ;)

This one is beautiful, as was the pink one. I'm looking forward to the pattern publishing.

One of the things I pondered at this last studious glance is: I need to start playing with coloring practice sheets more ... you have a real gift with colors and the more I studied your quilt, the more angles and 3D aspects to the overall impact.
It is just really intriguing. <wave>
