Here is another gift for my 4 year old grandson. It is a car tote.
It has pockets for 5 cars on one side and a big pocket on the other side. It opens and there is a road to run the cars on.
I saw a picture of this somewhere. This was another "make the pattern up as you go". I know Sammy will like it.

This is the car pocket side. The pockets are deep, I just pulled the cars up so you could see them.

The tote opens and this is the road. I used a little piece of velcro to keep the center closed when not in use.

That is so cute! I remember when my son carried his matchbox cards in a paper bag! Then I made little fabric totes but his cousins teased him about that! J

This is wonderful. They can entertain themselves if they "have" to be somewhere that they aren't too interested in. Nice gift.

Cute, any little boy would love to be able to tote their cars around like that! Too bad my grandsons are too old for it.

I tried several things for the road. I finally decided to use a big piece of felt the size of the inside. 12x22. I fused wonder under on the back of the felt. I drew the roadway on the fusible web paper side. Drawing the road way sure didn't happen on the first try. I just played with it until it looked ok. Then I cut it out and fused it down. I then zig zaged the road down. I also used a white stitch zig zag for the center of the road.
Since the tote had to be in the mail this morning, there was a little pressure to get it down. (Yep, nothing like a little pressure to stir the creative juices).
I sure appreciate all the supportive and positive comments. Thank you everyone.
